At the D&M family of companies, there is no higher priority than safety and our long time commitment to safety is exemplified by an EMR (Experience Modification Rating) well better than average. This is achieved by creating a culture built upon safe work policies and practices. Undoubtedly our strategic partnership with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers has played a huge role in fostering this culture. Every employee that sets foot on our jobsites has at a minimum OSHA 10 hour training (with supervisory employees having OSHA 30) as well as NFPA 70E. Line crews also have CPR and First Aid as a mandatory requirement which is encouraged for all employees. Crews also have been trained to use the AED which is carried by all General Foreman on our line crews.
We have a deep commitment to providing the best PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) available and have programs designed to not only warehouse adequate amounts of active equipment and spares but also to replace and retest equipment at MONTHLY intervals. We constantly are searching for better solutions (such as lighter weight Fire Retardant (FR) clothing with higher calorie ratings) to give our employees higher levels of protection than what is required by NFPA 70E.
In an effort to enhance our safety program we are taking things to the most technologically advanced level by implementing our entire safety program on smartphones and iPads that will report to a Cloud and allow new levels of document control that previously relied on paper.
The is no greater mission than returning our most precious resource, our employees, home safely to their families each and every day.
