Installation of (106) new utility poles ranging in size from 30’ to 90’ tall to support antennas and cabling.
D&M’s scope on this project consisted of the installation of (106) new utility poles ranging in size from 30’ to 90’ tall to support antennas and cabling along the Harlem, Hudson, New Haven, Waterbury, Danbury and Port Jervis lines in both New York and Connecticut.
Since all of the equipment needed to be installed along the railroad right-of-way, a large portion required night work and access to sites via high rail equipment. Due to the limited windows available for outage work along the rails, D&M electricians pre-fabricated equipment off-site to support D&M line crews who performed the actual installations.
The project also involved the installation of several miles of fiber optic and power cabling along the New Haven line.
D&M’s extensive experience in both pole line construction and transit work helped to make this very difficult project a safe and successful endeavor.
